The Entity

Associació Esportiva Ramassà is a sports and social entity from Vallès Oriental (Barcelona) with almost 50 years of history. We are members of the international Common Goal and the United Nations initiative “Football for the Goals” .

The projects we carry out are always aimed at gender equality, access to education and other basic services, the promotion of peace and the reduction of social inequalities, using sport as a tool for integration and transformation of groups at risk of social exclusion, both nationally and internationally.

Since 2014 we have organized cooperation projects on the African continent that have taken us, to date, to Ethiopia, Benin, Uganda, Cameroon, Madagascar, Ivory Coast and The Gambia, including the organization of a football match against one of the best teams from each country. We collaborate with NGOs in the country we visit to finance projects that align with the values of our entity, and we actively participate in workshops and activities together with children.

We have designed an initiative to promote the practice of football among the group of asylum-seeking and refugee women who arrive in Catalonia. The project “Inclusive women’s football for newcomers, asylum seekers and refugees”, started in 2021 and implemented in the city of Barcelona, aims to facilitate the integration into Catalan territory of adult women using physical activity and sports practice, organizing recreational-sports outings and working on specific training plans to facilitate the participants’ job placement.
Between 2017 and 2023 we have coordinated, together with the local counterpart CEFOSJEC, a long-term project in Cameroon aimed at the creation of a training center and a football academy for boys, girls and young people at risk of social exclusion in the neighborhood of Etetack, in Yaounde, promoting men’s and women’s sport, and improving access to education.

We also carry out awareness-raising and educational actions for development in schools, institutes, companies, public institutions and other third sector entities, to talk about sport and social impact.
