Les Franqueses del Vallès, June 2025 — AE Ramassà has commemorated its 50th anniversary with a weekend of events filled with symbolism, participation, and emotion, leaving a profound mark on the entire community. The club had the honor of hosting the Sahrawi Sports Federation and the National Team of Western Sahara, special guests who played a central role in both the sports and institutional events, strengthening the bonds of cooperation and solidarity that have united the two organizations for years.
The celebrations began on Friday, June 20 with an institutional reception at the Les Franqueses del Vallès Town Hall, attended by the Sports Councillor Carlos Munzón, and continued with the awareness event “Football is Refuge” at Can Ribas, coinciding with World Refugee Day. The round table brought together representatives from UNHCR, the Catalan Fund for Cooperation, the Catalan Football Federation, the Sahrawi Sports Federation, and Ramassà players, creating a space rich in reflection, experiences, and proposals for inclusion through sport.
At night, after the institutional event, a very special training session was held with the Sahrawi Sports Federation in l’Ametlla del Vallès, with the participation of the mayor, Jan Santaló i Lloret. This symbolic gathering reaffirmed sport as a tool for collective cohesion and dignity.
Saturday, June 21, sport took center stage with three friendly matches that brought together Ramassà’s men’s and women’s teams with the Sahrawi National Team, in a day defined by fair play, respect, and camaraderie between teams:

In the morning, the historic debut of the Sahrawi futsal team ended with a narrow 1–2 victory at the Corró d’Avall Sports Hall.

In the afternoon, Ramassà’s women’s team won 9–4 in an intense match full of good vibes.

The men’s eleven-a-side football match, refereed by former referee Alfons Álvarez Izquierdo, ended with a Sahrawi victory of 0–2, but with a great performance by Ramassà.
The events continued at the Llerona sports area, where the club’s 50th anniversary party was held. More than 200 people, including authorities, families, and friends of Ramassà, took part in a warm and festive atmosphere.
During the institutional speeches, the club named the Right Honourable President of the Government of Catalonia, Pere Aragonès, and the Secretary General for Sport, Abel García Marín, as honorary members in gratitude for their support and commitment to sport as a tool for social transformation.
One of the most emotional moments of the evening was the tribute to the founders of the club, with a special mention to Manel and Joan Pujadas, who received a commemorative pin and a warm, heartfelt round of applause from everyone present. The other historic founders were also honored: Jaume Pujadas, Esteve Viñolas, Josep Bellavista, and Ramon Abadias, who have been key to the beginnings and consolidation of the project.
The 50th anniversary video was also shown, featuring a very special dedication from Aitana Bonmatí, and the night ended with a spectacular fireworks display by Ars Pirotècnia.
AE Ramassà deeply thanks everyone who attended, and especially the Sahrawi Sports Federation and the Polisario Front, as well as the institutions and organizations that made this anniversary possible. This weekend has been much more than a celebration: it has been a reaffirmation of the values that have guided the club since 1975 — solidarity, inclusion, and commitment — and a starting point to continue transforming society through sport.
