The inclusive women’s football team comes true!

From A.E. Ramassà, we are very excited to see how our inclusive women’s football team project becomes a reality! A project in which we have been working for many months and which aims to facilitate the integration of girls who have just arrived to the province of Barcelona, in situations of asylum request and / or refugees, using the practice of sport as a tool for social transformation.

On May 19 we had the first training session at the Camp Municipal del Carmel, thanks to the collaboration of the company Celebreak (www.celebreak.eu). Since then, every Wednesday afternoon training / match sessions are held with the aim of providing a space for leisure and sports for the participating girls.

We are very grateful for the support of UNHCR Spain, the Catalan Committee of UNHCR, and the social entities that have helped us reach this group of girls: the Spanish Commission for Aid to Refugees (CEAR), ACATHI and the Apip-Acam Foundation.

With this project, our entity contributes to achieving SDG 5 (gender equality), 10 (reduction of inequalities) and 17 (alliance for the objectives).
